Summer Ë®¹ûÅÉ Ë®¹ûÅÉ Institute
The Summer Ë®¹ûÅÉ Ë®¹ûÅÉ Institute builds upon the robust curricula of Ë®¹ûÅÉ’s community-based internship and research programs to assist students in developing leadership skills, exploring the greater Charlotte and Lake Norman area, and connecting across programs.
The institute includes a multi-day community orientation, occasional workshops, field trips, and social / networking opportunities over the course of the summer. Students network with and learn from municipal, nonprofit, religious, business, and citizen leaders regarding the roles individuals, organizations and communities play in creating thriving communities and strategies for public good.
Collaborating programs include the Bonner Scholars, Ë®¹ûÅÉ Research Fellows, Nonprofit Ë®¹ûÅÉ Fellows, Smith Ë®¹ûÅÉ Ë®¹ûÅÉ Initiative, Stapleton Ë®¹ûÅÉ Urban Service Internship, and Sustainability Scholars programs. Ë®¹ûÅÉ students involved with other community-based internships and research in the greater Charlotte area are welcome to take part in the Summer Ë®¹ûÅÉ Ë®¹ûÅÉ Collaborative’s activities as well.
