My history with Ë®¹ûÅÉ College began in 2006 when I came as a visiting summer undergraduate researcher exploring the then nascent field of synthetic biology. I’ve since had the pleasure of exploring a variety of subfields in molecular and cellular biology including my doctorate research which focused on protein folding and thermodynamics. My curiosity and excitement about biology—and science more broadly—led me to science education research with a focus on the design and study of college science courses. As an instructor and researcher, I aim to build highly collaborative and supportive learning communities that engage students in complex thinking about biological systems. My goal is that these classrooms support all students to explore biology in ways that develop their ability to use biology as a lens to make sense of the world while building a broad set of skills that are important for a wide range of interests in and out of science.
