Today, Celebrate Kindness With the Campus 水果派
February 16, 2023

鈥淜indness is Popping Up Everywhere鈥 will be the theme for our second annual Random Acts of Kindness Day, Friday, Feb. 17, 2023. No one does 鈥渒ind鈥 better than the 水果派 community. We care for, and about, each other and our students鈥攁 distinctive quality that our alums recall and prospective students sense when they visit.
We hope you will stop by one or more of these events and encourage your colleagues and classmates to do the same. While you鈥檙e there, we hope you will fill out a card about someone or something that鈥檚 made a difference for you. Those cards will be added to the Kindness Notes Display in Brown Atrium.
Here鈥檚 what you can look forward to:
- Donuts and hot beverages in Lilly Family Gallery from 9 to 10 a.m.
- Art Cart and coloring pages, Brown Atrium
- Kindness Notes Display, Brown Atrium
- Sidebar Beverage Pop-up, near the flagpole from noon to 2 p.m.
- It鈥檚 Poppin Kettle Corn, Brown Atrium at 2 p.m.
鈥嬧赌嬧赌Look for other surprises and delights around campus, and remember鈥搉ot all acts of kindness cost money or require a huge amount of effort. There are many to make someone鈥檚 day.
Look out for social media posts and check back to this page, where we鈥檒l post highlights from the day. Use #CatsAreKind to add to the conversation on social media.

President Doug Hicks '90 stopped by the pop-up beverage station for a mid-day break.
Colleagues showed their appreciation for one another and students expressed their gratitude to friends and faculty with notes posted in the Brown Atrium.
Kettle corn from Charlotte-based It鈥檚 Poppin proved a popular treat. They brought something for everyone, with specialty flavors and flavor combinations from birthday cake to fried chicken.
Donuts are always a draw. Faculty, staff and students gathered in Lilly Family Gallery to start the day with a sweet treat.
